Thoughts, Travels, and Training

I consider myself a pretty simple person. True, I am female, and most people would argue that would prevent me from being simple. But really, most things are pretty black and white. I want what everyone wants-to be treated as an adult, with respect, and I like it when people are straight with me. One things that bothers me above the rest is not being truthful with someone. Regardless of how you feel about that person, lying is something no one deserves. I honestly just cannot fathom how people, especially people who care about and love eath other, can lie to someone else. It boggles my mind. Really. And that includes keeping things from people. Just because you don't tell someone something on purpose to keep it from them doesn't mean it is not still a form of lying. If you do something that you know the other person would be upset, mad, saddened at, etc. and you choose to keep it from them, it is no better.

It's ironic when someone you see as being strong, is just so weak emotionally. Someone who you think would be able to tell the truth and deal with the consequences, would rather cowar away from it! Or maybe they are just too oblivious to see how something could impact someone other than themselves. Either way, it's sad, because most people react worse to being lied to, rather than what was lied about. If people just stopped lying to each other, trust wouldn't be such an issue for so many people. Food for thought: If you love someone, and you lie to them, is that not one of the worst forms of disrespect and the easiest way to tear people apart? Yet it is one of the easist things for people to do.

On a lighter note, I start my running tomorrow! I am excited to start, even though my trip to Costa Rica will temporarily disrupt that. I also met with my friend today who is going to Costa Rica with me to discuss some things we will be doing there. Sounds like it will be a fun trip: Organic farm, hiking, a volcano, zip line, BEACHES!!!

I am so ready.
